  • Aromatherapy: Here is a simple blend to help balance your hot flashes. Combine 10 drops Clary Sage, 11 drops Geranium, 7 drops Lemon, and 2 drops Sage into 30ml carrier oil, such as olive or sweet almond oil. Use in a bath or dab a few drops on your wrists and neck.

  • Get Cooking: Here’s a recipe from Secrets of Self Healing called Second Spring Chili. The recipe’s name comes from the concept that a woman’s midlife is about the flowering of feminine potential. This chili is loaded with phytoestrogen rich foods, which are beneficial to support you through your Second Spring!

  • Ingredients: 1/2 cup each dried soy, black, kidney, and navy beans, 1 can tomato paste, 4 cups chicken stock, 1 teaspoon turmeric, 5 chopped cloves of garlic, and 1 chopped onion.

  • After rinsing beans, place everything in one pot, bring to a boil, and simmer for 2 hours on low, adding water as needed. Feel free to add other vegetables to your liking.
